In 1958, Arne Jacobsen was asked to design the Radisson SAS hotel in Copenhagen, Denmark. With designing the space "head to toe", the Egg chair was created. Jacobsen sculpted an unusual, cocoon-like shape that allowed jet-setting guests to swivel and recline.The chair is now manufactured by Fritz Hansen
